Dogs are family too

And I Love When They Join the Photos!

There’s something extra special that happens when clients bring their dogs to a session. Maybe it’s the way their tail wags the entire time. Maybe it’s the pure joy they bring to every photo. Or maybe it’s just that they are family—and they deserve to be part of the memories too.

As a lifelong dog lover and rescuer, this part of my job fills my heart in the best way. Before having our daughter, I spent a lot of my time volunteering at a rescue in Muskego, Wisconsin, fostering dogs and helping them find their forever homes. (Insert shameless plug for Texas Rescue Riders dog & cat rescue <3) I also independently rescued six dogs from Texas back in 2019—three of whom are now part of our own little pack. I honestly can’t imagine our family without them. They’re goofy, loyal, full of personality, and have brought more love into our home than I ever thought possible.

So when you tell me you want to include your pup in your session? I’m already grinning.

A couple sits on the beach with their smiling dog wearing a green bandana beside the water's edge.
A German Shepherd dog sits on grass with someone in a floral dress kneeling beside it on a sunny day.
Group of friends and their dog enjoying a summer day together by a peaceful pond surrounded by lush greenery.
A happy Golden Retriever poses outdoors with a bouquet of white flowers on a sunny day.

I know how to work with animals (and have plenty of treats ready), and I’m always up for a few belly rub breaks, funny noises behind the camera, or a little patience when they need time to settle in. The result? Authentic, joyful moments with your whole family—four-legged members included.

*Plus, this year I will be bringing along a portable dog tie out and stake so we can capture those moments without the pup as well!*

Whether you’re celebrating a big milestone or just capturing a beautiful season of life, your dog deserves a spot in the frame. After all, they’ve probably been right there beside you through it all.

Let’s create some memories with your whole pack—click here to book your session, and don’t forget to bring the pup!

I also welcome other friendly pets to sessions as well
