With the 2026 senior year right around the corner right now is the perfect time to start planning your senior photo session. As a photographer who has worked with many seniors over the last four years in southeastern Wisconsin, I pride myself on making my seniors feel comfortable in front of the camera while also giving them the opportunity to be themselves and showcase their true personalities!
If you're anything like me, I was extremely nervous to get my senior photos done! Standing in front of a camera and smiling at a total stranger? Yeah...no thanks. So that's exactly why I pride myself on making this a fun experience for my seniors (and parents that tag along). I don't just want this to be a photoshoot. I want this to be an experience that you will remember and cherish for years to come! When you look back on your photos, I want you to remember how much fun you had and remember the laughter and joy that came with your session.
Along with making the experience one to remember, it's important to find a location that will really showcase your personality and give you the "vibe" you're searching for. So here are a few of my favorite spots for senior photos! Check them out.
Historic Third Ward
There is no chance you'll be disappointed by this location in Milwaukee, Wisconsin!
Not only does it offer a great spot for some rooftop photos, but there are tons of spots surrounding this area that make for the perfect backdrop to senior photos. This little hidden gem of a spot is perfect for you if you want that urban vibe in your photos with lots of variety.
If you are envisioning the rooftop photos, it's best to plan for a late evening photoshoot right around sunset time. That's when you'll get the best lighting and can really utilize this space the best.
Wildflowers
These little hidden gem spots in West Bend, Wisconsin are the perfect place to go for those gorgeous wildflower photos! The flowers are usually full bloom right around end of July into early August and make for a stunning backdrop for any senior photos. Best part? It cost nothing to photograph at these spots!
The Beach
While many of my senior photos have been done on the beaches in Milwaukee, I highly prefer the beaches located in Port Washington, Wisconsin! Not only are they easier access, but they offer cleaner beaches & are surrounded by a beautiful town making it the perfect location to capture those beautiful beach shots while also offering an urban vibe.
In studio
If you are looking for a space that offers some versatility and uniqueness, an in-studio session is a great option! In studio sessions come at an additional cost but make for a great space for those cold winter months (if you're really early at getting your senior photos done) -OR- in those hot summer months when you don't want to be sweating your butt off outdoors.
My favorite studio locations are in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Green Room MKE or in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
